Wird als Initiator bei der Herstellung von Polyethylen niedriger Dichte (LDPE) eingesetzt. Es kann sowohl in Autoklav- als auch in Rohrreaktorverfahren eingesetzt werden. Es dient als Initiator für die (Co-)Polymerisation von Ethylen.
