It is immiscible with organic solvents and oils. It is used as a drier in oil-based paints, as an accelerator in polyester resins, and as an adhesion promoter for rubber-to-metal bonding. Depending on the solids content, the recommended dosage ranges from 0.02% to 0.05%. It is used in combination with lead. In addition, it is used together with zirconium and calcium to improve surface drying in more environmentally friendly systems. |
